Summer Holiday Activities - Murton Equestrian Centre

Wednesday 26th July – Indoor XC Clinic

 Want to challenge yourself and try something new or slightly harder. Why not attend our XC and SJ day clinic. The day will include setting out your own course and walking lines. Choose your favourite horse to jump over the course before we hold a mini competition between all riders to see who can get closest to the optimum time!

 10am – 3pm, Experienced Riders only must be capable of jumping 75cm £45 per person. Individual lessons are available on riding school horses or riders can bring their own horse and hire the arena

 Thursday 27h July – Own a Pony Day – Stable Management and Riding Lesson

 Choose your favourite pony and spend a day at the stables learning to groom, muck out, feed, tack up, tack clean and have a 1 hour riding lesson. This day is educational and teaches children what it would be like to have their own pony.

 10am – 3pm, Open to riders of all abilities but 6 years and over. £45

 Friday 28th June – Adult Only Day – Stable Management and Riding Lesson

 Why let the kids have all the fun? Come and spend a day at the stables learning all aspects of stable management from grooming and tacking up to mucking and skipping out. Choose your favourite horse and have a 1hour riding lesson on them. Don’t panic there will be frequent tea and coffee breaks! This day will incorporate the aspects of Stable Management you don’t get to do when you come for your riding lesson.

 10am – 3pm, Open to riders of all abilities but over 18s only! £45

 Friday 4th August – Family Day

 Why not bring your family to the stables and spend a day with your favourite ponies and horses. You will ride for an hour, learn to groom, feed, muck out, tack up and do a family quiz. You will get to spend quality time with the horses and your family.

 10am – 3pm, open to all riders of all abilities. £45 one person, £80 two people, £100 three people

 Tuesday 8th – Friday 11th – Own a Pony Week

 Want to see what it would be like to own your own pony, why not spend a week at the stables learning to groom, feed, muck out, tack up, plait spend an hour a day riding your favourite pony. We will have a mini show at the end of the week and a tack and turn out competition. Riders must be on a Junior Level lesson or higher only. £130 per person 10am – 3pm daily

 Wednesday 16th August Dressage Competition

 Want to challenge yourself and try something new or slightly harder. Why not attend our Dressage day. The day will include setting out your dressage arena and walking lines, learning the dressage test. Turning out your horse for the competition and then riding your test and being judged.

 Riders must be able to walk trot and canter with reins 10am – 3pm £45

 Thursday 17th August – Games afternoon 1pm – 4pm

 Choose your favourite pony and spend an afternoon at the stables completing activities like a Quiz, Treasure Hunt and balance games. Then have a 1 hour lesson playing pony games, the winner will receive a rosette. This afternoon is all about having fun with your favourite pony.

 1pm – 4pm. Open to riders of all abilities but 6 years and over. £35

 Friday 18th August – Pony Club Day

 Choose your favourite pony and spend a day at the stables learning to groom, muck out, feed, tack up, tack clean and have a 1 hour riding lesson. This day is educational and teaches children what it would be like to have their own pony.

 Thursday 31st BHS Progressive Riding Test and ABRS Test Day

 Want to start a career in horses and learn more about them? Why not come along and try our test day. The day will include practicing the skills needed to look after and care for horses. Looking at the different levels of riding required to progress to a higher standard. You may get a certificate at the end of the day and gain a little knowledge about horses.

 10am – 3pm, Riders must be junior level or higher but 12 years and over. £45
