National Riding Schools Competition Qualifier
The aim of this competition is to:
-Recognise the importance of correct horsemanship and riding in promoting and maintaining wellbeing and welfare of the horse.
-Offer BHS Approved Riding Schools and their clients*, a progressive pathway to participate in a nationally recognised series of inclusive competitions catering for a range of age and experience levels. *Clients must have ridden atleast 6 times at our centre in the period of August, September and October 2024.
-Provide opportunities for riding school clients without their own horses/ponies, to benefit from quality instruction in horse care and equitation.
- Enable a pathway for BHS Approved Riding Centres and their clients to celebrate achievement and success at both local and national levels
-The Championships will take place at Pickering Grange Equestrian, Ellistown Terrace Road, Ellistown, Leicestershire, LE67 1EZ. Riders who place 1st and 2nd will qualify. There will be limited spaces in the wagon so riders must choose 1 class if they qualify for 2 classes. Riders who qualify need to complete atleast 6 lessons at Murton between the qualifier and 1st February before being offered a place to compete at the championships.
-The competition will be run across differing age groups. The rider age is taken as on the date the qualification round took place, the classes are below.

At the National Championship prizes will be in kind with rosettes being awarded to 10th place in each class.
Riders should be dressed smartly, cream jodphurs, clean riding boots and a show jacket/v neck jumper is suitable.All hats should be current standard and body protectors are reccomended for jumping.
Riders are allowed a long whip for dressage and a short whip for jumping. No spurs allowed.
Competition will be run under same rules are BHS Riding School Championships.
